I quit my job
Yep, last Wednesday I gave notice. I will go into more detail about why and stuff after I am officially out of there.
So what is next for me? I am going to really try and focus on the webpage stuff. I have enough money saved up where I can live for a pretty damn long time if I live frugally so I am not worried about stuff in that regard. I just really want to try giving the online stuff a real shot. I know that it is possible and if I can pull it off I can’t think of a job that I would rather do. I mean, who wouldn’t want to only work a few hours a day and be able to take off whenever you want, be able to work from the beach or wherever I happen to be.
I also plan on going down to LA in the near future. A good friend of mine just moved into a new house and she had a baby about a year and a half ago who I still have not met. I also have an open invitation with a family friend to come down and learn Maya (a 3D modeling/animation program). My sister in laws brother is also presently unemployed and he was talking about a roadtrip, I may talk to him and see if I can tag along. I would also love to go visit my friend Scott who lives in Japan. What I would really like to do is go spend a week in Japan with Scott and then have the two of us go somewhere else together. I am also toying with the idea of driving cross country again eventually ending up in FL to go see my dad. I would love to go to Europe but I don’t think I want to do that by myself. I may even go back to school.
So there is a lot of stuff I would like to do, but mostly I want to devote at least a month to writing web pages. I want to make myself write at least five new pages a day for a month. This will give me 150 new pages. Now if I can make each page earn me fifty cents a day that would be $2,250 a month. Not enough to really live on (no taxes would be taken out) but it would be a hell of a start. Granted, fifty cents a page is lofty goal but it’s not totally unrealistic either.

I’m excited to see what you come up with. If you road trip you might as well make it a doozy.. and come by The NYC as well, you have an open invite. It’s also good to see you giving it a proper go at web writing. you should post a links update so we (or is it only me in here) can see what you’re making. I hear porn is big, maybe you should make a porn site. Or you have to come up with something that is obvious but no one has thought of. like that guy that sold the million pixels on his website for a dollar each and made a million dollars.. that’s a good one. You know what would rock, have a website that makes two websites fight. like they’re in split screen and then by some criteria the two websites battle to see which one is better. cnn.com vs. nytimes.com or neil’s crappy blog vs. my crappy blog. maybe the pictures fly across at each other. A video would be powerful stuff, trouncing pages of bulleted text. you get the idea. now get on it.

I have around 4 ideas that I want to do. One is a home theater related thing that I have actually already started and I think I have linked you to. Another is a subset of the home theater stuff which should be easy to make and could potentially be a good money maker. I want to add a working with fiberglass section to Moesrealm, I made a fiberglass subwoofer box for my Miata and I want to write a much more indepth article on working with fiberglass. Lastly, I want to make a photography section on Moesrealm.
I was actually considering maybe coming out to NY for new years if you’d have me. It is just an idea, I have no idea what my schedule and life will be like then but the thought definitely crossed my mind.
