Added some new stuff to the Realm

Filed under: Web Stuff — Posted by Moe on May 21, 2007 at 4:11 pm

Over the last few months I have added some new pages to my main site Moe’s Realm

I added a new page for an LCD digital projector that I picked up off craigslist Sanyo PLV-60
Another page describing how to clean the projector: Cleaning the Sanyo PLV-60 LCD Projector
A page describing my IR distribution system: Hot Link Pro
A member of the AVS forums who wrote two guides on the Sony G70 projector, which I happen to have allowed me to use his content on my site as well. Two different guides:
Sony G70 Tube Replacement Instructions
Sony G70 Fan Modification

I have also made a few new photoshop tutorials lately:

I made an engraving Photoshop tutorial: Engraving Photoshop Tutorial
One that I like a lot that shows you how to make text that looks like it’s made out of water: Liquid Text Photoshop Tutorial
How to make the ever so popular aqua button : Aqua Button Photoshop Tutorial
And how to make plastic looking text in Photoshop: Photoshop Plastic Text Tutorial

Last but not least I went through all of my music pages and fixed up the urls. This was one hell of a project but I am glad I took the time to do it. Moe’s MP3s

So that is what I have been up to as of late and one of the reason I haven’t been blogging all that much.

Poke Me In The Eye

Filed under: Web Stuff — Posted by Moe on April 2, 2007 at 10:24 am

Donkey boy and I have teamed up together and created a new site. The site is called www.pokemeintheeye.com. On the site every weekday we are each going to share with our audience five links each, for a total of ten cool links everyday. Once a week we are also going to showcase a cool piece of freeware/shareware that we find especially cool. Once a week the Crawford and I are going to pose a question to one another, taking turns each week who asks the question, and then share our answer with everyone. We also would like to encourage or readers to answer the question as well, I think this section is going to be fun. We are also going to have a babe of the week because we both like boobies and chances are you do too.

We want to come up with a couple more “of the week” type of things so we can have a new one everyday but Crawford and I are still hammering out the details on that one.

The real fun part of the site, beyond all that concentrated awesome above, is that at least once a month we are going to do a project of sorts. These projects are going to run the gamut and will pretty much be whatever we feel like doing and having fun with. The first project, which we are going to begin tomorrow is we are going to build a trebuchet.

I am really looking forward to this site, I think it’s going to be a blast for Crawford and I to build and we hope our readers have fun with it as well.

Check it out.

Moe’s Realm has a (slightly) new look

Filed under: Web Stuff — Posted by Moe on January 9, 2007 at 5:42 pm

The code on Moe’s Realm had been a mess for a very long time. I built the template that the pages used a very long time ago and the web has moved on considerably since then. I have been meaning to update it for a long time but never found the time. After a friend of mine took a look at the code and made a not so nice comment I figured it was time to get off my butt and do something about. He also pointed me to this page which gives quite a few sample code snippets for navigation using CSS. The navigation was the big bloated part on Moe’s Realm so this was perfect for me.

Long story short. The combined total size of all the HTML pages on Moe’s Realm used to be 244 MB. After cleaning up the code and actually improving the look of the site in the process the total size of all the pages is now 48.5 MB, a fifth of the original size.

I also made a few other changes that the user will never notice but will make my life easier when it comes to updating the site and stuff.

Take a look at the new look and let me know what you think.

Wondering what happened to the puzzles?

Filed under: Puzzles, Web Stuff — Posted by Moe on January 4, 2007 at 8:03 pm

If you are wondering why I stopped making the Spot Seven Puzzles there is a good reason. I decided to make a section on Moe’s Realm that was devoted to it. I am going to be offering visitors a new puzzle every weekday, I am taking weekends off (at least for now).

I could use some help spreading the word about this so if you know anyone who is into puzzles let them know, or if you could maybe mention it in your blog, or in a forum post or something like that I would greatly appreciate it.

Three new sites launched

Filed under: Web Stuff — Posted by Moe on November 5, 2006 at 8:32 pm

I mentioned in the post about my Camille Guaty fan site that I had bought a domain name for another celeb and was going to be putting together that site soon. Well, I ended up buying two more domain names for two other women so I now have four celeb fan sites. Without further ado, here are the sites and the beautiful women that they are about.

Paula Garces
Paula Garces

Paula Garces was the hot girl in the elevator in Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, a movie that I found surprisingly funny. She is also currently on the best TV show in the world The Shield. She is a serious hotty, probably my favorite of the girls I made sites about. Linky: Paula Garces

Lindy Booth
Lindy Booth

If I had to pick a least favorite of the bunch Lindy would probably be it. Don’t get me wrong, she is ridiculously hot and has some of the most perky breasts in the world but she just doesn’t have the same level of hotness as the others. Linky: Lindy Booth

Sarah Carter
Sarah Carter

Last but certainly not last least I present you with the stunningly beautiful Sarah Carter. I first saw Sarah on Smallville and she made an immediate impression on me. There is just something about her looks that I really find attractive. Again, if I had to pick an order she would be a very close second behind Paula, so close in fact it may be a tie. Linky: Sarah Carter

So now I wait and see if celeb fan sites are good earners. If they are I will most likely make more as they are very easy to make, I can easily put together the entire site over the course of a day.

I made a new website today

Filed under: Web Stuff — Posted by Moe on October 29, 2006 at 8:32 pm

As you may know from reading this pathetic little blog I recently quit my job to try and do the web thing full time. Now I have heard several times that celeb fan sites are good money makers so I decided to try it out. I went looking for some good domain names for “not too popular but have some potential” starlets and I scored a couple of really good domain names (first name-last name.com)

The one that I made today is for Camille Guaty, she is the little hotty that is on that new show The Nine that comes on after lost. I am watching the nine, I don’t love it but it keeps me entertained and Camille is easy on the eyes.

The site was easy enough to build except for a few kick myself in the nuts bugs that drove me crazy. I bought another domain name for another hotty which I will probably put together in the next week or so. I am going to use the same template that I used for this one so it should go really fast.

Wish me luck.

Ooops, I almost forgot to give you all the link to check out the new site. Here you go Camille Guaty

Check out the new look!

Filed under: Web Stuff — Posted by Moe on October 18, 2006 at 10:24 am

As you may have notice this place is looking a bit different. After poking around the site I noticed some strange things that the old template I was using was doing. For instance, when you were just viewing a single post, or if you were browsing by category the entire right hand side nav would disappear. I didn’t like that at all. I tried to fiddle with the old template to see if I could fix it but I didn’t have any luck (I am a PHP noob) so I had to start from scratch with an all new template. This is the template that I started with, it’s called Tech-Bytes, as you can see, I had to do quite a bit of fiddling to get it to look how I wanted. I am pretty happy with it.

I also made a much cooler logo up there at the top. The old one was one that I just kinda threw together and I was never all that thrilled about it. I also decided to add some advertising over there on the right, hopefully you all don’t find it too obnoxious. I am unemployed and I could use the money. So if you happen to be an ebayer come here first and click on the ebay banner before you buy something, it could put a couple bucks in my pocket.

Let me know what you all think about the new look and if you happen to notice any bugs.
